Request Stop & Other Sketches
by Harold Pinter

Glimpses of London and the people who live in it.

Played in Mała Scena, Teatr Wybrzeże Dec. 11 - 13th in 1998

What have you never dared to do at a bus stop?
Has anybody seen George?
And what does he look like?
Is your favourite soup tomato? Do you approve of dunking?
What question would you never answer in public?

With the big anonymous city of London as its backdrop, Pinter's wry depiction of the way people try to communicate with one another shows us how absurd our seemingly well-ordered world really is.

Harold Pinters is one of Britains foremost playwrights and is responsible for such seminal works as The Caretaker, The Birthday Party, The Homecoming, No Man's Land and Betrayal. His best-known screenplays include: The French Lieutenant's Woman and The Go-Between. Harold Pinter was born in London in 1930 and probably reads the Evening Standard like a lot of Londoners.
